TRACS IGCSE | O-Level Mathematics

Mathematics (0580, 4024)

In the Cambridge IGCSE (0580) and O-Level (4024) Mathematics syllabi a specific curriculum is followed. Both the syllabi inspire the students to:

  • develop a feel for number and understand the significance of the results obtained
  • apply mathematics in everyday situations and develop an understanding of the part that mathematics plays in learners’ own lives and the world around them
  • analyze and solve problems, present the solutions clearly, and check and interpret the results
  • recognize when and how a situation may be represented mathematically, identify and interpret relevant factors, select an appropriate mathematical method to solve the problem, and evaluate the method used
  • use mathematics as a means of communication with emphasis on the use of clear expression and structured argument
  • develop an ability to apply mathematics in other subjects, particularly science and technology
  • develop the ability to reason logically, make deductions and inferences, and draw conclusions
  • appreciate patterns and relationships in mathematics and make generalizations
  • appreciate the interdependence of different areas of mathematics
  • acquire a foundation for further study of mathematics or for other disciplines

Assessments

All students for IGCSE (0580) will take two papers from extended syllabus (P2 and P4). Whereas, students form O-Level will take P1 & P2. In IGCSE, Paper 2 (Short Answer) is for 1 hour 30 minutes and carries 70 marks and Paper 4 (Structured Questions) is for 2 hours 30 minutes and carries 130 marks. Program Structure

The IGCSE / O-Level Mathematics preparatory course at TRACS is divided into 12 weeks. In the first 10 weeks, entire course will be covered and the students will be introduced to more complex concepts such as algebra, geometry, and calculus. Teachers at TRACS will use a combination of lectures, problem-solving exercises, and group work to help students develop their understanding of these concepts. Additionally, the use of technology will aid the students to understand the relevance of the mathematics in real world and how it can be used to solve problems in a variety of fields. In the last 2 weeks, past papers practice sessions will be held.

Fee

The total fee for the 12 weeks is PKR 45,000. This can be paid in two installments. First installment of PKR 25,000 at the time of enrollment and second installment of PKR 20,000 after 4 weeks.
